Who's The Strongest Man Alive?

Throughout history, mankind has been obsessed with physical strength (think Hercules). In 1977, men with incredible strength started competing annually in the World’s Strongest Man (and other) competitions for the title of being the strongest man alive. Can you imagine being named the “Strongest Man In The World”?

Now I’m not a weight-lifter, but even I am amazed at these stats. Just look at some of them!

• 500-pound log lift

• raw squat of 880 pounds

• 900-pound deadlift

• 661-pound bench

In fact, a man from the US named Bill Kazmaier was so strong he was actually barred from competing in 1983 by event organizers because it was assumed that as long as he competed, no one else would ever get the chance to win. What?!? Can you imagine being SO good at what you do that you are not allowed to participate because you will blow everyone else out of the water? Unbelievable!

While we may not personally know the “Strongest Man Alive”, we do know someone who is actually more powerful - and the best at what He does. Friends, we have direct access to the one who spoke things into existence, the one who flooded and dried the Earth, and the one who placed the stars and brings the sun up every day. And most importantly, He is the one who sent His own Son to save the world by dying on the cross and raising Him back to life again. He will send his Son once again, in great power and glory, to cleanse the earth and destroy the wicked and all evil. And the MOST AMAZING part of this story is that we are invited into a relationship with the one who holds all of this power. Does it get any better than that?
